What are the groups like?

Groups are friendly, free and take place weekly, all-year-round on sites across Leeds.

We call all group members 'Volunteers' as you are helping to maintain a garden and supporting others in the process.

Each group is facilitated by one of our staff, we learn together.

No previous knowledge is needed, but if you have gardened before, your experience will be useful.

The groups are up to 15 people, we plan a range of tasks so you can
chose what you want to do, and can work either as a group or on your own.

We promote informal peer-support within our groups, sharing experiences and supporting one another in a sustainable way.
Staff are not able to offer one-to-support in these groups, if you need extra support in the garden, please contact us to discuss this.

We can provide bus passes for eligible Volunteers.

If you have any questions or if you’re not sure whether Community Gardening is for you, feel free to get in touch!
