We are involved in a number of networks and projects linking our organisational aims to a wider movement of
organisations and individuals all working together to affect positive change.

Climate Action Leeds is working for a zero carbon, nature friendly, socially just Leeds by the 2030s.
We are doing this by mobilising communities, campaign groups and different sectors to plan and act together.

We are the ‘Nature Transition Partner’ for this city wide project, our main goals are to:
  • Develop new nature-based projects in Leeds
  • Develop  and support Leeds Green Activity Providers  and other nature networks in Leeds
  • Influence policy around access to land for nature based projects in the city

  • Promote what we offer to the people of Leeds.
  • Amplify and enhance the community response to the Climate Emergency
  • Share good practice
  • Encourage partnership & collaborative working to avoid duplication and competition.

A Community Research Network for Leeds : SHARED KNOWLEDGE IS SHARED POWER

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) will invest £5 million over the next five years in the creation of a series of Community Research Networks across the UK. This will form part of its goal to deliver economic, social, and cultural benefits from research and innovation to all UK citizens.  LGAP is one of many networks who are actively involved in developing this collaborative bid. We are working as part of the core team as a representative of LGAP.

  •  ‘Developing a pathway towards urban co-production for disused land in Leeds’   Principal Investigator: Paul Chatterton - School of Geography - University of Leeds.  July 2024
    • Through our experiences over the past decade, it has become clear that there is not a clear process for Communities to access Leeds City Council land for nature-based projects – especially when it is not Parks land. We are working as part of the research team to help influence policy change within LCC to make processes easier and clearer. This has expanded to include the Community Asset Transfer policy review, as well as trying to support the creation of a better framework that LCC tenants of buildings and land can use to have a more equitable partnership with LCC. Public Civic Partnership.
