Our story
Hyde Park Source began in 1998, when a small group of neighbours in Burley, Leeds transformed their shared bin yard into a garden. Others saw what was possible and were inspired to do the same. That original spirit of grassroots action and community empowerment continues to guide everything we do today. Our Principles Our work is shaped by five core principles: Connect · Be Active · Take Notice · Keep Learning · Give These principles guide how we work with people, communities and the natural environment. They are known as the ‘5 ways to wellbeing’ – we have created our own version of these inspired by the 12 permaculture principles. Feedback We collect regular feedback through this website, please feel free to complete our Volunteer Survey or Project Evaluation if you have worked with us in the past and would like to share your experiences with us.
