The Lost Plot
|
This group is part of the Outdoors Active and Well project and has a recovery focus - predominantly for those in sustained recovery from substance abuse.
We started this project in July 2016, with a very overgrown plot! We uncovered lots of treasures including fruit trees and bushes, a pond, lots of wood and even some old tools. We took on an adjacent plot in Autumn 2019 and continue to grow a range of fruit and vegetables, herbs and flowers. We also love cooking, going for walks and improving habitats for wildlife on the site too. The group are a very friendly bunch and always welcomes new members. We named our plot and group 'The Lost Plot', because all of us at some point have! We are inspired by Permaculture Design, trying to grow and learn in a sustainable way. The group offers people the opportunity to come together, share and learn skills, improve their health and get to know each other, whilst creating a beautiful and productive space. It also offers people in 'Sustained Recovery' an alternative to more conventional talking therapies, as part of their recovery plan. Read an article about the project here. |
