In the inner city estate of Killingbeck  there are abundant opportunities: abandoned allotment plots and an un-used pavilion are on a journey to become a productive hub of fruits, foods & flowers.

The community are keen to cook and preserve the fruit and veg they grow into healthy food products such as tangy fruit winders from dehydrated apples, pairs and plums grown in their orchard.

Young and old are working together with unemployed parents facilitating educational child care provision for their neighbours and delivering forest school and cooking activities.

Flowers are being grown to brighten the estate and a new poly tunnel can produce cut flowers.

As members of the community increase their skills and experience they are working together, towards setting up their own constituted group which can move forward independently of Hyde Park Source, becoming a partner in the growing network of environmental community groups across Leeds.
