A free after school club running on the Rosebank Millenium Green up to the end of 2017!
Rosebank Rangers is a weekly outdoor after school club for children in the Hyde Park/Burley area, inviting them to play, learn and explore on their local green space.
Times and dates; Sessions run 15:30-17.00 and we meet at Rosebank Primary School.
The last session for the summer 2017 term is Friday, 21st July. Back September!
We shall be honing are bushcraft skills with some Den Building and whittling as well as expanding our understanding of nature with some Bee Conservation and Mini Beast Hunting as well as much, much more.
Many members of the group aren't able to play out unsupervised, and some parts of the Rosebank are a mystery even to children who live 5 minutes away. One new member recently asked 'why is there so much grass up here?!' which highlights how out of touch local children can be with the natural world.
Rosebank Rangers we try to address this by celebrating mud, worms, trees and fruits, and encouraging the children to do the same!
If you live locally and have children aged between 6 and 11 contact us for more information. We also run monthly action days for the whole community - have a look at the Rosebank Sundays project!
Check out the photos below to see what fun we've been having recently, alternatively contact Julia below for any information on the project. Feel free to fill in a consent form if your child is interested or simply fill one at the first session.
