First day at a new placement. I lost count of the amount of times I repeated 'deep breaths Leonie. You'll do great!' in my head. Staff meeting was first on the agenda - which was a great opportunity to meet everyone on the team. Within ten minutes, my nerves were instantly calmed. Everyone is kind and welcoming here. We began by talking about our weekends to get familiarised. I wish I had something more interesting to describe than my usual weekend plans of serial watching box-sets and stuffing my face with chocolate.
Within two hours I have a piece of A4 paper crammed with jobs and ideas of things that I can do during my time here (and that's just for this week!) In the afternoon I went off to the Bedford Fields site to work with rhubarb. I couldn't think of a better way to be spending an afternoon. I made sure to take lots of pictures of all of the processes (Who knew that there are so many ways of consuming rhubarb?).
