Week two, completed!
Another crazy busy week at Hyde Park Source, I have just finished my second week and it has taken me longer than expected to update my blog as I have been so busy this week. Last week felt like I had settled in and I believe that everything is coming together, the projects I am working on and what I will be doing throughout my placement and I couldn't be more excited!
My week began at Spring Bank Primary School, we planned a nature scavenger hunt and the receptions loved it! The programme is called 'Forest School' so we try and ensure that our weekly sessions are outdoor, weather permitting of course, we try and ensure that sessions are enjoyable and follow the guidelines of 'Forest School'.
I also went to Cross Green community garden group on Thursday, and again we were working with the group and volunteers with their latest project- a community sensory garden. Right now the area is overgrown with trees and bushes so we have been tackling that problem bit by bit. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will have made a lot of change and we can begin the garden.
Spring Valley Rangers- Once again the session was so enjoyable and entertaining. Last week we drilled the already made bird feeder to their raised flower bed. After this we filled their pre made bird feeders from the week before, young kids, bird seeds, small space- can you imagine the aftermath??
The weather on Friday was not good, it rained all day however we still worked away at Richmond Hill School where we are creating a new area for the children. A messy and mucky day but we still got work done!!
I cant wait to update next week, I am half way through my 3rd week and it has been so busy and fulfilled!!
Keep reading, there is a lot more to come, believe me!
